Yesterday Microsoft reveled their new Windows at the WSJ’s All Things Digital conference, codenamed “Windows 7″. Engadget posted live from the event. Announced for 2009, the big question is Is Vista to blame? Vista took 5.5 years to develop and it was a complete failure. This question was asked to Ballmer at the conference and he responded “It’s not a failure, it’s not a mistake. Are there things we’ll modify and improve going forward? Sure.”.
Looking at the preview released (below) of Windows 7, I can’t see anything that revolutionary that I haven’t seen before. Microsoft have to come up with something amazing to make users ditch Windows XP and spend the extra money for the new version of Windows. They need bring something new to its users like the promised WinFS which was supposed to be included with Windows Vista.
