Save time, don’t write your own code

Posted by Andrew Cetinick on June 6th, 2008

Today developers are pushed harder to produce results faster. This trend has developed due to the fast paced industry we are in, and the expectations of upper management. Expectations of today’s software programmers are to produce full applications with many semi-advanced features quite easily and quickly. My experience with Internode’s Naked ADSL2+

Posted by schone on June 5th, 2008

Moving sucks but moving and having no Internet, well it’s like the world has come to an end. My girlfriend thought this was a bit drastic but we didn’t move houses until I had Internet connected at our new apartment - I’ll let you be the judge of that!

Going through the endless amount of ISP’s available had me confused but I finally decided to settle with Internode and here is review of my experience of connecting to them with Naked ADSL2+.

Update (26/06/08) : I received another call from Internode today regarding testing speeds which hasn’t changed. I’m still getting the 200 kb/sec mark during the night and 1.2 mb/sec. They couldn’t tell me anything more than they are still trying to convince Optus. Hopefully something is worked out soon as it has been nearly over a month now…Will keep you all updated.

Update (19/06/08) : My speed issue has once again appeared, it is where I get 150 kb/sec during the evenings (on-peak) and 1.2 mb/sec during the morning (off-peak), I logged a ticket with Internode’s staff a week ago and have not yet heard anything back. According to Internode staff I have been attached to a parent ticket which includes others like myself with the same problem and the real problem is with Optus (damn you!) where they believe that 100 kb/sec is a no issue speed! Internode are trying their hardest with this one and I guess I will just keep waiting it out.

Posted by Andrew Cetinick on May 26th, 2008

I got my copy of Age of Conan on Friday and I couldn’t wait to install and play it. After playing it most of the weekend I thought I would share my impressions of the game. I only have my 2.2 Ghz Macbook Pro to play it on, so I was worried about performance of the game. It was playable but I really do need a new computer to appreciate the graphics of this game.
