Internet Time Machine
Lifestyle July 3rd, 2008
Ever wanted to remember what Google.com looked like back in 1998? Have a look at the Wayback Machine where homepages are dumped and stored over time to show the changes over time.
Advances in web technology have improved dramatically over the past 10 years. Today Ajax, XML, Google Maps, and Flash are just standard technologies used in websites. Rewind 10 years ago, and I remember seeing sites with the good old GIF animation of the construction worker, or the ‘e’ in Internet Explorer circling around.
The Wayback Machine brings back so many memories on how the internet used to look like, how simple it used to be and how much it has changed since then.
These are some interesting sites that I searched for using the Wayback Machine. If you find some other interesting sites and how they looked back in the day please share.
